One of the best burgers I'd had in a while! After being in Charlotte all day, we decided to try this place out! I ordered a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and it was phenomenal! The rest of my party ordered a pimento cheeseburger with fries, and a stir fry. All of the items we tried were great, however, the service was not the best. View all feedback.
What Joseph White doesn't like about Village Tavern:
The food was bad. Ordered a pizza, which was undercooked. The table was sticky and dirty, and there was trash under the table from previous diners. The food took about 40 minutes to get to the table, after a 30 minute wait, though the place was not filled to capacity. Though the waitress was nice, she was not very attentive. The table next to us had a medical emergency, and received very little attention from the sta... View all feedback.

Server wasn't great, my husband gave his order then she asked him what he wanted?! Took her a while to come back to the table after we got our food to check on us. Yet had plenty of time to chat with other staff! My husband tipped her accordingly 18% (he's usually a BIG tipper) and she gasped when she picked up the check right as we were leaving the table!! That's the only reason why I'm leaving this review!
The food was very good! I had the hot crab dip which was tasty but could have used.mire seasoning but the toasted pita chips were great with it. I had salmon while my husband had the steak and they were both very good and had lots of flavor. No complaints there! Overall had a great time and would Definitely go back! I took off one star for service just because our waitress kept disappearing on us, and it wasn't packed so not sure where she kept going lol, but otherwise had fun and when she was around we were served and drinks were full. Oh yes it can be hard to find, keep going like your going behind the mall and you will see their green overhang with Village written on it. We went around a few times and kept missing it, they need more signs you can see from the street cuz it's not easily noticed.
We come here all the time. The food is delicious and the service is usually good also. This past time we made a dinner reservation for a Saturday night at 7:15. We got there a few minutes early and expected to get seated soon. We waited AN HOUR!!!! An HOUR for our reservation! At about 45 min, we snagged a seat at the bar and were planning on just grabbing drinks to pass the time. But then we decided to just eat there. About 15 min later, they told us our table was ready. Sooo long story short, I don’t trust their reservation process. Get there at least 30 min prior to your reservation. They must be booking too many people. There were also three other parties there before us waiting just as long. Ridiculous!
Menu selection was decent but I only found a few options that would fit my preferences. Me and my guest both ordered the Mahi mahi, one was prepared Florentine style with the white wine and spinach, and mine was the other option which came with the angel hair pasta. Their scratch kitchen did such a perfect job cooking the mahi to perfection, the sauce was also delicious. I cleaned my plate.Parking: Easy to find a parking space on Friday early evening.
