Steak 48 Charlotte

Our date night experience was super minus eating a little longer than expected and my lamb frame does not make it into my "to-go" bag. they have offered to compensate me, but it takes a 40-minute drive back to the restaurant to complete.

I got lucky when looking for a great date night experience this Friday as we attempted to make reservations several times previously with no luck. Upon arriving, we were seated immediately. The staff was amazing and attentive. They cleared clutter immediately to make room for the next course. BUT the food was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the sweet potato with pralines…OMG to die for. The bone in rib-eye was perfectly cooked and the most flavorful I’ve ever had.

We were so excited to try Steak 48 as it has such great reviews but to us, it honestly didn't live up to the hype. It was very good but there are plenty of very good steak restaurants in Charlotte. Be careful of choosing the backbar seating for dinner as they will very seriously seat you at the bar and not a table in the bar area. Sitting at the bar for a $300+, 2 hour dinner is a little awkward (think holding the menu in your lap while you eat your appetizer). Overall, we will very likely go back for a special occasion or two as it was very good and the service was impeccable.

The service, the staff, the food, everything was amazing. My very first time going and my experience was everything! Will definitely be coming back soon!

This is my favorite restaurant in Charlotte, hands down! Every aspect of this place is top notch from the food to the service and ambiance. It’s always consistent as well. I’ve been several times since they opened and the steaks are always cooked to the perfect requested temp. Ask for Tajia to be your server when you make a reservation!
