This past weekend, I finally had the chance to try Jim N Nick's BBQ in Steele Creek, and it did not disappoint! I had been holding off on visiting because they are always so busy, but their popularity clearly indicates that the food is excellent. I ordered the pulled pork and baby back ribs, both of which were served hot, fresh, and bursting with a fantastic smoky flavor. I also sampled the coleslaw and mac and cheese—absolutely delicious! The server was very helpful in guiding me through the menu, my beer was served ice-cold, and those little cheesy cookies were out of this world (I ended up taking two home). I was too full for dessert, but my server mentioned that they make their own cakes daily. I can’t wait to go back soon!
While the food is excellent, the prices are too high for a family of five.
The service was a bit slow on my first visit, but the restaurant was packed. I've been on the hunt for a great barbecue spot in Charlotte for quite some time. I've tried a few other places, but I'm really glad I discovered this one. The pulled pork is their specialty, but you can request it chopped or sliced, which is nice because back in Birmingham, BBQ is typically either chopped or sliced. The ribs were also excellent—definitely the best I've found in Charlotte. The BBQ sauce is a delicious blend of vinegar and ketchup, striking a perfect balance without being overly sweet or vinegary. The ribs had a robust smoky flavor and came with some sauce on the side. The fries are freshly cut, and the potato salad was fantastic. If you get the chance, definitely try the chocolate cake—it's amazing! I hope that as the staff gets better trained, the service improves as well. In terms of pricing, it’s comparable to other BBQ spots in the area, but the flavors here are far superior.

I didn't have dessert because I was stuffed but the server told me they make their own pies every day. I will definitely go back soon!
Although the food is great, it’s too pricey for a family of 5.
