The dinner menu online wasn't fully available- none of the listed entrees, and the prices were also different. There is no table service. You order from a QR code, and the food is brought to you. View all feedback.
What Celia Elias doesn't like about El Toro Bruto:
First time coming after seeing a post on social media…food was decent but not worth the pricing. Half the food was sold out (only 12 pm) and by time my food came it looked like scraps of whatever was left. Paid $6 extra for meat and got like two bites worth! (I got the breakfast bowl) and same goes for the potatoes. To top it off it was cold. The flavor was decent but not sure if I’ll come back. Whoever made that soc... View all feedback.
This restaurant is very charming with a nice downtown atmosphere. I love that it combines a bar, coffee shop, and restaurant all in one. I ordered the steak tacos, which had a great flavor and were presented beautifully, although the steak was a bit tough. The Al pastor tacos were flavorful but a little dry. These were the best tacos I have had since moving to North Carolina. The corn salad was refreshing, the rice was fluffy and well seasoned, and the beans were cooked perfectly. The chocolate cookie was delicious and loaded with chocolate chips, and the concha was light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. The beer selection was impressive as well. I will definitely be returning to try out the bar and coffee options. The service was fantastic, with helpful, attentive, and knowledgeable staff.
This restaurant is simply fantastic from top to bottom. The coffee is delicious, the tacos are unbelievable, and the atmosphere is great. I enjoy co-working here in the mornings.
If this is your first time visiting, it may take a moment to realize that El Toro Bruto is actually located in the back half of Resident Culture. The service was awkward, as I originally wanted to eat at the bar in Resident Culture but had to go to El Toro for what I wanted to order. The hostess was unsure about seating me at the bar and I ended up being seated at a table instead. Despite requesting my order to go, it was brought out for dine-in, so I had to package it myself. The price of the ceviche tostadas was quite high at $20. Overall, I felt that El Toro Bruto is overrated and overpriced with subpar service. The food was decent but not worth the cost. I believe Resident Culture offers better food at a more reasonable price with superior service from the bartenders. Parking is a challenge, and it is important to be cautious about where you park to avoid receiving a parking ticket.
Went to an amazing multi-course meal event for Juneteenth with Chef Santana. Environment, food, entertainment, the entire event was elegant and filled with culture, history and some dope figures in the community. I meet journalists, the NC PROJECT Space fam, Maetres from Brazil, just a plethora of good ppl. Loved the space. Santana is a brilliant chef. A true experience worth having again.
