Lunchtime can be busy but the atmosphere is upbeat and fast paced. The staff is really cool and they go out of their way to make your day! I don't know if Matthews and surrounding area realize how good this place is! Love it!!!Food: 5/5

I didn’t know dark meat chicken could be so dry. I ordered the leg and thigh chicken and it was so dry I couldn’t believe it. I also ordered the Mac and cheese. That was okay. This is my second experience going to City Barbecue and I’m absolutely certain that being rude and surely is a requirement for hiring. The other place was in a different town so it’s not the same surely employees. I’ll probably not eat there again. Also, sides and drinks are extra, not included. They do not have a meal option.

Great value in their jumbo combo plate, which features handfuls of about 6 kinds of meats and your choice of 6 sides for about $80. More than enough food for our party of 5, with leftovers even.Food: 5/5

We knew we made a good choice by how the place smelled walking up. Staff were exceptionally friendly and patient with us looking over the menu. Every dollar spent was worth the quality and quantity of food. There is no bad choice on the menu, ribs, pork, brisket, mac, hush puppies, corn bread, first hand first quality.Food: 5/5
