It was our first time at The Charlestown Rathskeller after it was highly recommended. And WOW!! We were so impressed. Our server was super friendly and attentive. We ordered the pretzel, which you have to get with the beer cheese. My wife’s watermelon margarita was so good, and we all loved our entrees. This is a place that is definitely worth the drive!! What Sue F doesn't like about The Rathskeller:
I had looked forward to trying the baked French onion soup. it proved to be quite a disappointment as it was almost inedible due to much too much salt. And I confess that I really like salt! And so for this to be too salty for my taste means it was shockingly over salty. Two of my companions tried it, as well, and totally agree. View all feedback.
Simply the best tavern in the state! Great food, cold beer, and attentive and cheerful wait staff! Go down back and catch a show. they have an amazing lineup of bands weekly! We love the Rathskeller!
Excellent service. Sat in the tavern. Food is decent enough. I would get a burger again and the truffle fries. Didn't care for the gravy with the short rib fries. Salad with chicken just ok. Large pieces of chicken not much dressing.
I had this meal from this restaurant because they were apart of the Charlestown seafood festival. So it was not at their restaurant it was at a booth. Regardless the lobster grilled cheese was delicious. It had a good amount of lobster meat in it and the cheese tasted like it was a blend and came with enough! The bread was buttered and toasted to perfection honestly would eat there again. Plus the Samdwhich was only 20$ which I think is a good deal. The service was fast as well.
Excellent food, environment and service. Server was beyond amazing, even tho some unfortunate circumstances. A bottle of root beer was spilled all over me, then I was served a beer with a broken glass, and then it was replaced with another beer, also with a broken glass rim which cut my lip. Server handled it like a champ and she was amazing. However, no management even came by to acknowledge what happened. If any one of these things happened the manager should have apologized. Having all 3 happen to the same person and not even a simple apology or stop by the manager is absolutely unacceptable. Whoever was a floor manager on Friday 8/30 should be retrained about handling guest. Very easily could have been a personal injury lawsuit if I was an ******* about my cut lip. Server saved the experience, she was amazing.
Burger Special: 8oz Brisket and short rib patty, with gruyère and fig jam, bacon and fried onion shoestrings, with truffle black pepper aioli, served with parmigiana herb fries and a pickle. The burger was mouth watering, cooked to perfection! From the first bite to the last it was a delicious treat for the taste buds. Please make this burger a daily item!
