What Michael T doesn't like about The Southern General:
Good food and good service. However it’s a 2.5 star experience due to the 20% industry charge (not a tip I was told) tacked onto my bill. When I asked about it I was told they were being transparent — yet I didn’t find out until looking at my bill. Great food. We had 5 people in our party and everyone really enjoyed their meal.
Wonderful local gem!! Highly recommend for lunch! Great service delicious food!! Definitely have to get the cheese curds!!!
The cheese curds were such a delicious start to our meals at this small, low-key restaurant. The pulled pork sandwich was amazing with the best sauce on it. We tried the hand cut fries which were seasoned perfectly and the mac and cheese had that great southern thickness and taste. Our server was excellent and made sure our drinks were always full. The hickory burger was excellent! The staff is friendly. Cool little place I’ll be back.
