This place has a casual Caribbean feeling. Many island inspired drinks, frozen Pina Coladas and daily Sangrias ready to go. There is an outdoor terrace with a full service bar and seating. Also in the back is a stage for live music. The Empanadas are a must and gravestones. Try everything on the menu with a large group, its tapas environment! View all feedback.
I had a great experience here. It started with our bartender, Chris. I'm not a big cocktail type, so the menu was a bit overwhelming because I had no idea what I was looking at. Chris had no problem explaining every drink. I ordered the Manhattan with rum as he called it. Then we ordered the coconut shrimp to start and it was fantastic. The shrimps were perfectly cooked and you could even taste the coconut part of it. It also came with a large mango sauce and green papaya salad. Next we ordered a short rib dish over rice and coconut green. The short rib itself was good, but the greens were something direct from heaven. We're done with the best Pina Colada I've ever had. I can't wait to go back. You had New Belgium Dayblazers for just $3 so it is also a good place to find a good affordable beer in Charleston (which is hard to find). Overall, I was very impressed. This may be my new favorite restaurant in Charleston.
Delicioso! And what a pleasure to find such a free brunch tea on this damp Sunday. Outside in the converted terrace of the once wild Hip King Dusko, sat a table of 12 hungry brunettes. The back terrace has its own bar and shade (and even a small deck for future live music maybe? The food We only heard happy Oohs, Awhs and marmots, while forks were passed on left and right. I ordered the Vertical Roots Cobb-Salat (which was served at Pass the Peas at this year's Bann 'High Water Fest and my lord had the Cuban with mojo (both pictured, too bad the internet has a real scratch and sniff to create). But I was lucky enough to get the Getway Benedict (with a tasty Vinaiigrette instead of heavy cream, which the oies miraculous and the softshell crab (perfect prepared, and the summer squash (light and airy, AND a few nibles of the chickens Tinga (which would have cured my cat, I had a . And of course, the service Charleston was perfect. This will certainly add to my regular brunch cycles.
Absolutely beautiful space, exciting and affordable drinks and intelligent staff. Graham Greene would love it here. Next time I'm in Charleston I'll stop at The Getaway!

This place is dope! The chef really knows what he/she is doing and has designed an awesome menu. My girlfriend and I came in the late afternoon just to phone-in a conference call, have a drink and a quick bite. All we ordered was the Chapa Bread and we were honestly stunned how great it was. Definitely will return if we get the chance. Also, the environment is amazing, great outdoor hangout area.
