We had a pregame meal before the Riverdogs. Great happy hour snacks to start(fried pickle chips and firecracker fried shrimp). Burgers and fish tacos were outstanding. View all feedback.
What Gail Moton doesn't like about Rutledge Cab Company:
I ordered shrimp and grits and I should have sent it back I think they gave me a soup had to fish for the grits and shrimp I don't know what they gave me was so watery like soup about 4 shrimp $30 got that soup View all feedback.
We ordered a Reuben, fries chocolate milkshake. Service time was reasonable. However, the Reuben was filled with extremely fatty corned beef. So much so that it was impossible to glean any meat from it. Our server didn’t come to check on us until we had pushed our plates away. I told her that I couldn’t eat the sandwich because of all the fat. She replied that she would take the plate. At this point I asked her if she had remembered that I ordered a milkshake. She said yes that she didn’t think it was ready yet! When she brought it, it was runny and tasted like it had been made with spoiled milk. No apologies at all for anything. One of THE worst food experiences we’ve ever had. We had always heard how good The Rutledge Cab Company was. We were so excited to try it but we so very disappointed with it all.

I 'm a Charleston local and used to enjoy going to Rutledge Cab in its early years. It was good food, good environment, good fun. The past year or so has gone down hill, with my last visit said to be my last. However, we decided to give it another chance last night. What a let down. It was hot inside. We were sat at a window table with the hot July sun beaming in on us even though half the restaurant was empty with better, cooler seating available. I asked the server if the sangria was red or white and she said that 's a good question. The fried pickles were fried hard with burnt pieces in the bottom and the pickles very greasy. One of us ordered fish and chips. The server sets down a chicken sandwich in front of her while calling it fish and chips. When it was pointed out, she gets the manager who also couldn 't tell that it wasn 't fish. So my grandmother had to wait for her correct meal while the rest of us had ours. They bring her the fish and chips and the hushpuppies and fries were as overcooked as the pickles had been. Pretty sure that grease is old and dirty. Before she can finish eating, they are bringing the check. With 80% of the food still on her plate, she was never offered a box. The manager 's excuse was there is a new person in the kitchen who has a lot to learn. She felt she 'd made right on it with a discount of $7.80. Not even a full comp of that messed up meal. The overall ambiance, service, and quality of food has diminished greatly. It 's no surprise they were less than 1/2 occupied on a Saturday night when every Charleston restaurant is packed.
