What Matt Shults doesn't like about Gene's Haufbrau:
The food service is shameful. Brown avocado on Left Coast Burger. Bun was old and wet. Hardly any toppings. I ate it because I was in the Army for 20 years. Worse than a chow hall meal. I wanted German food, but this isn't an authentic German restaurant (note misspelled Hofbrau), and the two items even looked bad in the menu. View all feedback.
Great spot for Sunday brunch. Not super busy, great prices, and good brunch spot vibes. I had the Monte Cristo and it was freakin delicious

It's a quintessential dive bar. Food is great for bar food. They have great service and a great beer selection and drinks are beyond fair in pricing.
Best bar in west Ashley. No need to stop anywhere else
