Black Wood Smokehouse - Charleston

The restaurant has a spacious grill area with a clean and modern interior. The food was delicious but a bit pricey. We started with the black loops appetizer which was huge and freshly fried. The mac n cheese was very creamy and flavorful. The baked beans were good but not as sweet as expected, more like what you would find in the south. The portions were generous and overall I would definitely recommend this place.

This restaurant serves a fantastic burger that is perfectly cooked with two smaller patties and classic American cheese. They also offer tasty smoked ribs and creamy mac and cheese. Their special deal includes a full rippchen plus two sides for only $15 from 3 to 6 on weekdays. The smoked chicken wings were delicious and only 75 cents each. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience and will definitely be returning to this restaurant regularly.

This BBQ enthusiast from Kansas City approves! The beans were a bit confusing, but still tasty. The bbq sauce wasn't quite traditional KC style, but it was delicious. The fries were good, and the brisket sandwich was perfect. The sauce was on point - not as thick and sticky as what we're used to, but we loved it.

The flavors at this restaurant are exceptional. The pork rinds appetizer was served to us still crackling. The meats are tender and smoky, and the pickled veggies are a refreshing accompaniment. I will definitely make a stop here on all my visits to the James Island area. However, I was disappointed to find out that the Impossible Burger is no longer on the menu. It was a fantastic vegetarian option.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The burnt ends were delicious, but unfortunately, the rolls were not as good. The service was quick and the food was definitely worth the price. Our waitress was very friendly and the bartender made my drink perfectly. I would definitely recommend this place and can't wait to return!
