Oishii Japanese Sushi - Chapel Hill

OiShi is a personal favorite, small, local, reliable restauraunt with excellent food service. The sushi is fresh and delicious with many kinds to choose from. Other menu items are also great, nice portions, fresh ingredients.

I'm not a sushi connoisseur but I've enjoyed everything I've ordered so far, with the Chesapeake Bay roll being my favorite. Plus the staff is always so kind and gracious, affirming my desire to eat local. My only wish is that they switch from using styrofoam containers to something more earth-friendly.

The roll was passable but not great. The yaki soba was bland and the seafood in it was sub par. It felt as though the atmosphere and price was that of an upscale, date night, restaurant. Then the food just didn't fit the bill.

Good sushi, miso, and pork katsu curry. Tempura cheesecake was good too. We had a good customer service experience and were able to add cream cheese to our two rolls for only a dollar. Volcano roll had a lot of rice noodles on top, a tad bit excessive since we had to find the roll underneath, but it was especially good, with the cream cheese, probably great even without.

This is our favorite Sushi Restaurant in the Chapel Hill area. But it not the best Sushi restaurant in the Triangle. The quality of food is good, but only 4 star. The prices are in line with other like places. The staff is friendly, but got our order wrong. I never got the drink I ordered and the meals came at greatly different times.
