Feedback
A remarkably varied cuisine, of unusual quality. The entire experience is well orchestrated and managed, supported by knowledgeable staff. Jared is to be commended by the service provided and his representation of the restaurant. Certainly among our top dining experiences in Central Illinois, Miga is capable of holding its own in a more competitive market. Well done!
We used to go to Sakanaya (sushi place at Green St) but due to COVID-19, their dine-in is close. Miga partnered with Sakanaya and offers the exact same sushi menu. This place offers dine-in option. They adhere with social distance and staffs wear mask. The sushi tastes the same and my experience has been great so far. Great ambience, great service, great food! You can even make reservation online. Best sushi in town.
This time, we tried a range of dishes: **Drinks:** We ordered sparkling sake and the Miga Old Fashioned. **Appetizer:** We had the beef bun, which I wish had come in a set of two, but it was incredibly tasty. It wasn’t your typical bun as it didn’t include spicy mayo or aioli, but the sauce was very flavorful. **Sushi:** We opted for the mango lobster roll and the Brooklyn roll. The mango roll leaned a bit on the sweeter side, so we ended up enjoying some pieces without the mango, but the fish and vegetables were extremely fresh. **Entrée:** The beef bibimbap was outstanding! The gochujang sauce provided just the right amount of spice, the beef was plentiful and well-seasoned, and the pickles were the best I've ever had. The only tweak I’d suggest would be to remove the lettuce leaves, as they interfered with the bibimbap experience. **Dessert:** We finished with green tea ice cream, which was delightful, but the true star was the whipped cream. The portions were perfect for two hungry diners. The food and service exceeded our expectations. Our server was not only attentive but also hilarious; I wish I could remember his name! We had noted in our reservation that it was my birthday, and upon our arrival, we were greeted with a lovely birthday card at the table. They also surprised us with a $20 gift card to their sister restaurant, Naya, which was a thoughtful touch and made me feel truly special. While I initially viewed Miga as a special occasion restaurant, based on our last experience, we plan to visit much more frequently and hope to try everything on the menu!
