When it was my turn to order, I decided to go for the lunch special, choosing a side salad and my usual baked lasagna. When I mentioned that I wanted the lasagna baked, Zachery replied, “That’s not a thing! We don’t do that.” I explained that I had ordered it that way before, and there was usually a $1 upcharge. He argued back, saying, “We don’t even have a way to put that in!” Then he asked, “When do you usually come here?” It felt like he was questioning my honesty. I told him I came about once a month for lunch and had always made that order. His response was, “I work every day, and I’ve never seen you!” It was strange; my partner and I exchanged glances, thinking he must be joking, but he wasn’t. I reiterated that this was a regular order for us and had never been an issue before. I was fine with the extra charge, but he still insisted it wasn’t possible. Moments later, he stated he had figured it out and placed our order while mumbling about how this wasn’t a normal request and that he had to make the system accommodate it. This made us quite uncomfortable. My partner also ordered the lunch special with Alfredo and a baked lasagna. When we looked at the receipt, we realized we had been overcharged for a small drink, and our two orders were processed differently. While I understood the additional charge for the baked lasagna, we were still confused about why the total amount charged was incorrect. Overall, the food met our expectations from Fazoli’s, but the interaction with Zachery was unsettling. It was just an extra dollar upcharge—something we were used to. It felt uncomfortable to witness how he treated both the woman in front of us and ourselves. I sincerely hope management takes the time to retrain Zachery and help him improve. Unfortunately, this visit was less than pleasant.
The staff were welcoming, the food was delicious, and the restaurant maintained a high level of cleanliness.
Fazoli's consistently fails to meet expectations. I gave it a rating of 3 stars because, despite being served a more expensive meal that I didn’t order, it was at least hot and fresh. The staff recognized the error, but they offered neither a refund nor a correction to my order.
I visited Fizoli's for the first time and was very disappointed. The male staff member at the drive-thru was surprisingly rude. I’m not sure what provoked his attitude—perhaps it was simply ordering $50 worth of food. He was by far the most unprofessional and discourteous person I've ever met at a restaurant. To make matters worse, my food was crushed and leaking from the bag when he handed it to us.
I had to request my meal myself because the staff was so loudly engaged in conversation that it felt like they were shouting. No one came around with extra breadsticks or checked in on any of the customers. I live out of town and don’t visit Champaign often, but given the level of service I experienced, I seriously doubt I will return.
