This is a college town upper scale downtown Bar and grill. Very nice food options good beer selection good wine selection. Not too noisy. Consistently good. Parking: There's a general Downtown parking ramp a block or two away which is a good choice. There's often street parking at meters. You probably won't have to walk more than a block or two. Great service and the salmon steak was really good to try

I'd say stick to the traditional American food menu. The burger and fries were good, but the Asian style pasta was overly salty.
The Hawaii Angus burger was amazing!? Loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff and service were excellent. Everything was on point. I'll be back!
We had a party of 12, three different families. Our granddaughter graduated from U of I and wanted a nice dinner after her graduation. I know how busy graduation weekend can be for restaurants, so they had a special menu. This was fine, but we were shocked that at the bottom of the menu was printed that an extra 25% was to be added to your check if you requested separate checks. Coming from food and beverage experiences, this is price gouging! Our bill was $382.00. If we had requested separate checks, that would have added an additional $95.00 to our checks overall. One person ended up paying the total check and we are paying that person for our meals. When you own a business there are certain things that are considered “cost of doing business“ and “how, as a business, can I provide the best customer service”. I think Big Grove Tavern missed the mark on both.
