What User dislikes about Southbound:
Collard greens didn't taste right. They need a different flavor altogether. Likewise with the coleslaw. The beef short rib was incredible. Definitely order that if you eat beef. Chicken wings were fantastic. Mac N Cheese was okay. Staff was very nice and super accommodating. Restroom was clean. Just wish they had more. Restaurant is easy to get to and they have ample parrking. No COVID protocols seem to exist here. P... View all feedback.

- aazing! everything was impeccable from the facility to the super friendly server, to the appetizers, main course and dessert. the goat cheese mousse is delicious!
Beautiful building that we had an excellent evening meal. we tried the teufelseier who had crispy speck on her. then my hubby chicken wing had mac n cheese. the wings were smokey sharp. the mac n cheese is great. my son had the brisket, perfectly smoked slowly roasted. he ate everything! the only feedback I would give is to add a dipping sauce for the fried boobs. total really great food service.
Inventive dishes with a southern flair. Service was excellent everyone felt welcome. Charming atmosphere for dinner with a date or small group.

If you plan on dining in, I highly suggest getting vaccinated.
The restaurant received mixed reviews for its food, with some finding certain dishes lacking in flavor, while others raved about the deliciousness. Despite some hits and misses on the menu, many praised the friendly staff, cleanliness, and easy parking. Those who hosted private events at the restaurant praised the excellent service and beautiful event spaces. While COVID protocols were not strictly enforced, it was recommended that diners be vaccinated when visiting. Overall, the restaurant seems to have potential, especially for hosting events with a smaller guest count or casual dining experiences.

Had the chef's special trout and fried okra. Okra was a little tough, but how they fried it was delicious. Trout, with Spanish rice, was very good.
We had a friendly server who was quick to respond to our needs. The Cuban Sandwich avails itself of the BBQ pork they use for other dishes, so prepare for that smoked taste in the Cuban. Good Brussels. Seasoned Fries weren’t to my liking, thick with no hint of crispness. Several outdoor seating options including, when open, an upstairs balcony.
Other than being extremely loud, this place is great!! Food and cocktails were amazing. My high school class is having its 50th reunion there in October. It will be upstairs in the private Peabody Room. Can’t wait!! Definitely recommend!!!
Southbound Chamblee lunch: Please note, these thoughts are our evaluation based on our visit. Boneless fried chicken breast, collards, deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes, mac cheese, tomato soup. My Little Princess wanted a bone in fried chicken breast, but my taste of the boneless chicken appeared to be cooked just right, not over cooked. They tend to be better fried bone in. Collards were very good, seasoned well, and although the addition of vinegar was good for me, my Little Princess would have preferred the vinegar on the side as usually seen in Southern restaurants. Deviled Eggs . . . Tasted like a Southern Baptist Church Woman's at an after church luncheon that never learned how to cook from her Southern GrandMother. Plain, but doctored with salt. pepper, and hot sauce, it would be OK, just didn't have the minced dill pickles with me. I loved the fried green tomatoes with pineapple habanero jam and goat cheese, could have added a little more heat for our taste. The mac cheese was something to pass on, close to Kraft in a box. The tomato soup was spot on, one of the best I have had, seasoned just right! The service provided by Caleb was most excellent. We understand he is also available for service at the bar for your service.
We stumbled upon this place after seeing a movie and couldn't find any available tables, so we sat at the bar. Our bartender, John, was fantastic! He made excellent drinks and gave us fantastic food recommendations. I tried the brisket, Buffalo cauliflower, and fries, and everything was incredible! I will definitely return to try more dishes!
