Was Pierce Tromp at Jv's Place a mag?
The food was good, though we had to wait a bit longer than expected. I understand they were busy, and the freshness of the food made it worth the wait. However, I was surprised that they didn't have sopapillas, which is unusual for a New Mexico restaurant serving Mexican cuisine. That was a bit disappointing while we were eating. We were pleasantly surprised by the crowded atmosphere, with more cowboy hats than we had seen on our entire trip. I hadn't visited JV's in nearly 20 years, so it was a pleasure to return and see the same beautiful, cheerful young women managing the restaurant. The food is just as good as I remembered—my favorite is the beef chalupa, although it's definitely not for the faint of heart. It's spicy!
Ordered frito pie, didn't have lettuce, or tomato...
Not much to look at, but the food is GREAT!
