Description

Nestled in a charming town, Foster's Restaurant garners mixed reviews, reflecting its complex character. While some rave about its delicious ribs and generous portions of local dishes, others mention slow service and a decline in food quality after the owner's passing. The historic ambiance adds to its appeal, though service inconsistencies seem to persist. Offers span American and Mexican cuisine, satisfying many, despite a few dishes falling short. Patrons appreciate the staff’s effort, particularly in maintaining cleanliness and cozy environments. With ongoing adaptations post-COVID, Foster's remains a decent choice for those seeking comfort food and a taste of local charm.

We didn't stay at the hotel but went to the diner inside. SUPER slow service, we were there almost 2 hours and the food was not cooked to order. We almost walked out, will never eat here again.

I absolutely adore Fosters Restaurant! I have dined there many times and have never been disappointed. Whenever I have family visiting, I always take them there for a meal and everyone is always satisfied. Tonight, I ordered the ribs for my sister and we couldn't stop raving about them. Thank you, Fosters, for consistently delicious meals!

Food is okay, but there's a honky tonk bar so that's nice

This family owned business offers very solid food with reasonably sized portions and mostly fresh. The green chili stew was definitely spicy, homemade and fresh. The Footer burger, served on Texas toast, was thick and high quality burger. Would not recommend the turkey open faced sandwich, using sandwich sliced turkey/deli meat. Fries were hot, sopapillas were homemade and pistol hot. I can think they are still recovering from Covid so be patient with the service. It’s a small town restaurant with a solid ability to fill your belly.

Driving back and forth from Santa Fe to Colorado, I needed to find a place to eat where there also was shade to keep my kitty from roasting in the van. Eastily found that across the alley from Foster's, so I wound up eating there twice. The first meal, a burrito was good enough but not the best I'd ever had. I'd give that 3 stars. Second visit, I decided to try a patty melt and fries, which were excellent. Service was good too, so I'll stop there again on my next trip to Colorado.
