I've been wanting to try this little hidden gem for a while, and it exceeded all my expectations. The staff is incredibly friendly and down-to-earth, making you feel right at home, like you’re in Mom's kitchen. Today, I ordered the special: a grilled cheese sandwich with split pea soup. My husband went for the hot dog topped with chili and cheese. Oh my goodness, that was the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had! I had no idea it could be that amazing, but it truly was. The split pea soup made me so happy, especially since I'm Scandinavian and I've rarely seen any Scandinavian dishes in the New Orleans area. It tasted just like I would make at home. My husband’s lunch looked so delicious that I had to take a bite, and it did not disappoint. They grilled the hot dog, added shredded cheddar cheese, and hearty chili. We live very close to this restaurant, so we’ll definitely be returning soon!
