Ari, the sweet girl at the bar, overheard our conversation and suggested we celebrate this achievement with some champagne. She kindly brought us two glasses of bubbly. Her warm smile and kindness truly lifted our spirits, and we were so glad we stopped in! When it was time to pay the bill, we discovered the champagne was on the house! Ari mentioned it was the least Jo Jo’s could do and encouraged us to enjoy life and smile every day. We are incredibly grateful for her thoughtfulness and will definitely be back soon! As for the ambiance, what used to be a charming open patio with a view of the beautiful summer sky is now cluttered with a collection of tents that obscure any connection to the outdoors. The atmosphere feels harsh and tacky. It’s disheartening to see how the once-great and well-respected Gamekeeper's has declined.
We were seeking a spontaneous outdoor dining experience in Chagrin Falls and happened upon JoJo's BACKYARD. Fortunately, we didn't need a reservation and were seated immediately. The outdoor ambiance is fantastic; it brought back memories of the Gamekeeper's patio from my 20s and 30s, but this place truly outshines it. The food, including the filet skewers and burrata, was delicious, and the cocktails were perfectly mixed. Our waiter, Nick, was exceptional! He provided great recommendations and went above and beyond with his service. To top it off, Ryan, the manager, was attentive and made sure we were enjoying ourselves, which was a nice touch.
Great location for Happy Hour, only at the bar. Short menu includes a few appetizers and sandwiches, and wine by the glass. Bartenders will explain the food and suggest wines. Recommend. Parking is at meters or around town.
Absolutely beautiful space! Love that the walls can open on a beautiful day. We went around three on a Saturday and it was moderately busy. Our server was super nice but I think over extended, we did not have the opportunity to order another round of drinks or get more water before we needed to get going. The food was bad. The steak/frites/bernaise sauce came out cold. Everything was under seasoned, but luckily there is some really nice French salt on the table to help. My martini was just okay. My husband's beer was very cold and refreshing, though. I think we expected more out of our time there based on how stunning the space is, but the food/drink does not match the ambiance.
