Take previous reviews with a grain of salt, especially since many of the negative ones are dated. We were uncertain about what to expect from the diverse food menu, but we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the fajitas combo, chips and salsa, gyoza, and pad Thai. My husband and I had different cravings, making this restaurant a great choice. The seasoning on the rice was exceptional, and my husband really enjoyed his fajitas. The pad Thai was delicious and well-prepared, and it also came with some crab rangoons. The portion sizes for the price are fantastic. The service was quick, though it wasn't very busy for a Thursday evening. If you're in the area and uncertain about where to dine, I highly recommend this place!
I tried the chicken red curry and chicken panang curry at medium heat, and both dishes were exceptional. The service was prompt and efficient. I truly enjoyed the delicious Thai food.
During our family trip to Chadron, we asked our hotel for a dinner recommendation and they suggested Far West. We decided to give it a try, and we were delighted with our choice. The staff was busy but exceptionally friendly and attentive. The menu offers a diverse selection of Mexican, Chinese, Thai, American, and sushi dishes. We were a bit skeptical about how they could manage such a wide range of cuisines, but we decided to order a mix of appetizers and my husband opted for a Mexican entree. Everything was delicious! The appetizers tasted homemade, not frozen, and the enchiladas were fantastic as well. I couldn't help but notice the dishes at the table next to us—lo mein, fried rice, steak, and burritos—all looked tempting! While we don’t visit the area often, we will certainly come back to dine at Far West whenever we do. Enjoy the photos, and I highly recommend trying out Far West!
The restaurant is no longer open. We traveled across town to visit, only to find it appears to be permanently closed and poorly maintained.
I feel for Chadron, as there are very few restaurants in the area. My dad and I got a recommendation for this place from a gentleman at the golf course, and I'm glad we decided to try it! The food was reasonably priced, the portions were generous, the menu offered a fantastic variety, and, most importantly, everything tasted great. They have a section of the menu that includes Chinese, Thai, Mexican, and American cuisines, so you can bring along picky eaters—I'm sure everyone will find something they enjoy. Being from South Dakota, this was my first visit to the area, and I have to say that Far West might just be the best thing Chadron has to offer. Give it a try; you won't be disappointed!
