We took our grandchildren at the age of 8 and 13 to Freie first Sundays, who held an event they held on the first Sunday of the month. You must register on the line for this event. We saw the Wayne Thiebaud 100. So fun different crafts related to artist work on each level for the children. I enjoyed it so much I bought a membership. View all feedback.
The Brandywine Train Display was fantastic and interactive with buttons and pedals to move things and turn on and off lights. The Victorian dollhouse was also great with one find it game for everyone to enjoy!
The Brandywine River Museum is a lovely setting for viewing paintings by N.C. Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth, and Jamie Wyeth. They also feature works by other important American artists like Horace Pippin.

Perfect local museum in a local area. On a rainy spring day I understood why there is this particular mood in Wyeth's paintings. The view of the brook is just great. Beautiful cafeteria and gift shop.
There are always great exhibits. My favorites were Wayne Thiebaud (visited a few weeks ago) and the children's book Illustratoren (from a few years ago).
