What Onie Cruz doesn't like about Mabuhay Kitchen:
This kitchenette has a variety of good food, and sold at a reasonable price for the right amount of serving. Unfortunately, for the several times that I have visited the place, there is only one server who happens to be the cashier as well. This means very, very slow service. Taking into consideration the food and service, a 3.5 stars will do until improvements can be seen. View all feedback.
Kind of an odd experience. Mom and I got here just before 10AM and they were out of a lot of items we were interested in. I guess they open at 7AM and ran out of tocino and garlic fried rice. They only had tapa available which we passed on. We decided to give these guys a shot since we were already parked in the very front. We just got 1 item plates with steamed rice totalling about $16 including a mango drink. Mom got a fried fish and rice which was acceptable. My plate was the mung beans and veggies which I poured over my rice. OK dish and could have been better. Although we were eating the food in the dining area, the counterperson packed most of it as to-go and had the fish on a paper plate. The person we got at the counter was OK, not rude nor friendly. It sounds like we did not get the owner that other yelpers have encountered. This place appears to be very small biz (although other yelpers say they have some connection to Goldilocks on the other side of the plaza? They have a bunch of styrofoam items stored on top of one of the tables. They have some Filipino artwork on the wall. There are lots of Filipino food options in the area so, this may be a pass on a second visit.

The food is really good..specifically the kaldereta...yummy....
This place is part of the Goldilocks and it's confusing who to write the review for so I'll do it for both. Longanisa was just a hot dog, I'm not sure how no reviewers have ever mentioned this before, maybe they switched up on us because my bf who isn't Filipino ordered (we did an order to go). It looked like Longanisa but it did not taste like it at all, it tasted like a hot dog. Tocino was fine but the meat portion compared to the amount of rice was too little. Extremely confused and disappointed, especially since we didn't find out until afterwards since we got takeout. I wouldn't order breakfast here again.
