There are many pastries to choose from and they all look yummy. Went back again for our last morning in Como.

We went last year in sept while at the villa d'este and when i asked about sandwiches at poletti the concierge staff seemed rather dismissive of the place. well... read more We went last year in sept while at the villa d'este and when i asked about sandwiches at poletti the concierge staff seemed rather dismissive of the place. well let me assure you the open faced tuna sandwiches on their home made bread (and different each day) was to die over. every single day that we were at the villa d'este we went there for lunch. advantages: lovely short walk into town, cost a fraction of what anything at the villa d'este would be for lunch, my wife and i agreed the best tuna sandwiches ever and if you can sit outside in the little garden patio setting thats wonderful too.

At the back they have a small terrace, which ideal on a hot summer morning because it’s in the shade and full of potted plants so it’s cool. Go for an Italian classic: cappuccino and croissant (ask, because they have different fillings. They are all good, but the best one is definitely the custard! .

I come here as often as I can and it is such a joy to experience Poletti. The waiters are incredibly friendly, and the pastries and coffees are absolutely delicious. The pistachio cream cookies are heavenly. Overall, do not miss this place!!
