Absolutely full to capacity with parties and local french workers....and no wonder. Wer were shown to ourctabke by a very pleasant young woman who told us to help ouselves to our starter from the buffet and explained the main course, only four to choose from but included fish and meat dishes. So far we went to a buffet stuffed with salads and meat...late, jambon eggs, carrots the list goes on ....and on...and on, lovely and fresh. After we had eaten ourcway through our starters, that would have easily satisfied as a main course our waitress brought our food. I had poem and it was perfectoy cooked, husband had beef, cooked just as he'd asked for. Desserts were the usual fare, nothing to rave about but perfectly adequate.All served with wine for the princely sum of €14 what fantastic value. So if you want good food, in a comfortable clean restaurant, served by nice people, and if you don't mind crowds, this is definitely the place to lunch. You'd need to be there at 12 noon or reserve your table, otherwise you won't get in. Good luck and enjoy ....we did

We were going shopping to Limoux on a Saturday and as it was 1.15pm we decided to chance our luck. We were asked if we had a reservation but even though we didn’t , we were seated by an extremely efficient girl. Buffet to start with life’s of meat and salads. Main course of the day duck or lamb or beef today . Everything was delicious and with wine included it was €14 each. Amazing and the desert

The restaur... read more I had been told about this place and have driven past it several times. Today we decided to check it out. It is a butcher and a restaurant combined. The restaurant is very popular and seems to be full every day it is open. There is an outdoor area and a kind of sun room as well. Enough seating but also many visitors. The food is authentic hearty and home made. There is not really a menu but more a choice of dishes. You start with an apéro called Kir, then a selection from the salad and charcuterie buffet and they offer you wine and water. There is a choice of 4 main courses and they all looked good. I chose Paella and my husband the Grillade. One thing you need to know about France when they offer grilled meat. It often comes just like that meat and pommes frites but no sauce. If that matters to you, don't opt for the Grillade. Finally a selection of desserts to chose from and a good coffee. It all together set you back for 14 Euro per person. Incredible value we though! It is suitable for groups and the two waiting staff were able to handle over 80 people with a flair and a smile. If you are in the area, don't skip this place!

It has a Petit Fute rating which is good in itself but the restaurant surpassed our expectations! As a result we decided that we would assume a new rating system called Little Gem. These are restaurants that are unpretentious yet offer fabulous unadulterated regional food. This was our first award. The restaurant is open for lunch and there were people queuing to get in at 12 noon. It is run by a local traiteur/butcher and I guess that everything is made on the premises. Delicious charcuterie to which you serve yourself, choice of 6 main dishes. I had merlan with rice in a Chardonnay sauce, my partner chose cassolette which we expected to be mini cassoulet wrong! It was a delicious seafood and fish stew, and was it good! Serious food envy from me! Choice of desserts, Phil had homemade Tiramisu which was good, I had mango sorbet yummy! We were offered a local apero to start and had a choice of red rose or white wine. What was the total bill? An unbelievable 28 euros! No 1 in our Little Gem rating at the moment. Try it out.
