What User doesn't like about Restaurant Cepie:
Un buffet d'entrée agréable grâce à la charcuterie maison. Les plats sont simples mais bons. Un seul bémol, les accompagnements (frites, poêlée de légumes) sont surgelés... pour un traiteur de métier c'est quand même décevant... En résumé, un très bon rapport qualité prix pour un repas de cantine amélioré. Si vous cherchez un gastro, fuyez. Si vous avez la flemme de cuisiner ou si vous êtes de passage, vous passerez... Went to this restaurant with friends for lunch...it's only open at lunch! It only needs to open at lunch. Absolutely full to capacity with parties and local french workers....and no wonder. Wer were shown to ourctabke by a very pleasant young woman who told us to help ouselves to our starter from the buffet and explained the main course, only four to choose from but included fish and meat dishes. So far we went to a buffet stuffed with salads and meat...late, jambon eggs, carrots the list goes on ....and on...and on, lovely and fresh. After we had eaten ourcway through our starters, that would have easily satisfied as a main course our waitress brought our food. I had poem and it was perfectoy cooked, husband had beef, cooked just as he'd asked for. Desserts were the usual fare, nothing to rave about but perfectly adequate. All served with wine for the princely sum of €14 what fantastic value. So if you want good food, in a comfortable clean restaurant, served by nice people, and if you don't mind crowds, this is definitely the place to lunch. You'd need to be there at 12 noon or reserve your table, otherwise you won't get in. Good luck and enjoy ....we did
Just returned from lunch in Cepie. Absolutely stunning meal prepared in the kitchens. We were going shopping to Limoux on a Saturday and as it was 1.15pm we decided to chance our luck. We were asked if we had a reservation but even though we didn’t , we were seated by an extremely efficient girl. Buffet to start with life’s of meat and salads. Main course of the day duck or lamb or beef today . Everything was delicious and with wine included it was €14 each. Amazing and the desert
Local boucherie with lunchtime restaurant 3 courses including coffee and wine for 14eur pp. choice limited to casserole stew or grill but all good home cooked food. Frequented by locals workers and visitors. Deserts amazing. Unmissable.
This is a quiet and unassuming restaurant attached to a boucherie/charcuterie. It has an indoors area and a smaller outdoors garden area. The ambience is relaxed. The meal is a fixed-price menu comprising: Kir Buffet starter Choice of white, rose or red wine. 12cl each Choice of about 6 main courses (all containing meat) choice of desserts The price is €14 per head. Yes, €14 for all of that. The buffet would have been ample for me on its own. It offered several salad ingredients, hard-boiled eggs etc., and a wheelbarrow of charcuteries. I particularly liked the beef tongue in jelly, the chunks of ham and veal and the sausages, but there were probably around 20 different bits of meat. The main courses included Moussaka, veal chops, lamb liver, mixed grill, fricassee of beans (with meat) and beef with beer stew. I had the liver, which was served with parsley and garlic butter and chips, and I ate the lot. After a pretty large buffet grab, and I am not a big eater. For dessert there was the usual list including creme caramel, selection of sorbets, various ice cream things, grilled pineapple, tiramisu, various fruit tarts and some chocolate things. I had the sorbet; one boule of blackcurrant, and one of lemon. It was very, very good. We chose the rose as our wine, and it was excellent. The quality of the food was very high. It may lack a little elegance, but if you eat meat it is wonderful. The service was a lot better than I had expected. The young lass who served us looked busy, but we didn't wait long for anything. The buffet starter is a great idea, as you can get stuck in if you are waiting to order main courses, but it wasn't necessary. In summary, cheap but excellent eating.
We enjoyed a wonderful 3 course lunch with wine, aperitif and coffees for 14 euros. The gentleman who runs the adjacent butchers supplies the meats and I maybe wrongly, assume his wife runs the restaurant. We had a self service buffet to start which included various cold meats and salad followed by beef casserole/ pork chops with chips and veg followed by ice cream and coffees. We enjoyed it so much we booked for lunch the following week! The fellow diners were a mixture of locals and workers so a real French experience. Merci beaucoup pour votre excellent manger et service 10/10!!!!
