The hibachi was good; your standard experience. They do have a happy hour and military discount. The overall building is chilly, but when cooking it was plenty warm. Supposedly the building had been brought over from Japan, so that could be part of the drafty feel. There currently isn't a sushi chef, so they are just focused on the hibachi portion. It seems like they are trying to rebuild the business and name. We ho... View all feedback.
What DavidD doesn't like about Iron Chef Of Central Valley:
I had heard that the restaurant had been renovated. There was still a strong off odor upon entering the building. The restrooms do seem nicer and maybe the floor was redone in the main dining room but that was about it. Otherwise standard Hibachi fare at reasonable prices. View all feedback.
It's not Gasho anymore. It's called the Iron Chef. Still Japanese hibachi but along the right by the windows there is regular seating which was great because we're not hibachi fans. Had lemon grass soup and mushroom salad. Both very good. Edamame was some of the best we've had. Our son had the salmon teriyaki and really liked it. Overall it was very good and we'll be back.
The food was amazing and the restaurant is very beautiful CLEAN. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Not too salty like some other hibachi restaurants; it had the perfect amount of seasoning. The staff was nice enough. I personally think that their prices are very reasonable because you get what you pay for. Highly recommend!
I dine in this restaurant often! This is my favorite spot to eat. I visit this place frequently. The cooking is very tasty, the staff members are helpful and the prices are affordable. I like meeting in this spot for a decent lunch.
This restaurant was so gorgeous. We first ate here when I was a kid in the 70s. I loved watching the chef cook everything in front of us. We would come here for Mother's Day and other special occasions. They definitely left a mark on the landscape. There was a beautiful garden where we'd take pictures. Its a shame another generation will miss out on this place.
Haven't been here for 35 years but it still looks pretty much the same. We were there at a quiet, off peak time so service was excellent. The food is hibachi style and it's pretty similar to many other hibachi restaurants. We enjoyed having something not Italian and the company.
