The Dining Room Restaurant - Butchart Gardens

We were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary and both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the tea at this restaurant! The service was outstanding, as was the ambiance. The view was unbeatable and the prices were very reasonable compared to those in downtown.

The Butchart Gardens Dining room offers a superlative afternoon tea. Every element of the afternoon tea was marvelous from the décor to the service to the food with the bonus of the restaurant being situated in perhaps the most magnificent gardens in Canada. We have had afternoon teas in several places including in the UK. Butchart Garden’s afternoon tea beats them all. Every element of the afternoon tea defined perfection and we are so glad that we went. When we planned for our trip to Vancouver Island, Butchart Gardens and the afternoon tea was the first priority and I’d love to repeat the experience one day. I suggest reservations however we found calling on the phone productive to obtain a seating while the online reservation system did not show availability when we intended to go. We spent the morning touring Butchart Gardens, had an exceptional afternoon tea, and then continued looking at the Gardens. One of my best days ever!

Entered in electric strollers and made to feel so at home. Room cozy, waitress so personable, food exceptional, loose tea, and view was outstanding. (Had high tea later in the day at the Fairmont Empress and found it overrated, they use tea bags, and the price was nearly twice as much, Not friendly, felt as if we were there to see and be seen . Use your money to go twice at the Gardens!

Wonderful to be dining among 50 acres of the most beautifully manicured gardens in North America. Afternoon Tea is a very special experience, sublime tastes of more than sixteen gourmet items, with a selection of fine teas. Attentive and pleasurable service. Gorgeous setting. Not to be missed.

We had high tea here and it was very good. It is $45 pp fully worth. Unless you are very hungry, the food that one person gets is more than enough. Savory sandwiches many yummy desserts. Tea is served in beautiful silver pots you can have 3-4 cups out of it. Each person is given a choice to choose your own flavor of tea.
