Located near many other restaurants and cafes this bakery/restaurants is easily accessible via Victoria train and bus station. Their bakery is constantly busy and the queue might even get to cover the pavement outside. The wait for the restaurant in a weekend can be up to 30min (for two people). Food is mainly Middle Eastern/Greek. Great breads and desserts. They have vegan options too! Good coffee and teas. View all feedback.
What Magdalena P doesn't like about The Athenian Souvlaki Gyros:
Interesting place you can order via a tablet and be served your food quickly. Food quality is decent and they have interesting fast food menu. The front of the place looks great but inside it could be a bit cleaner (slippery floor is not ideal) especially if you'dlike to use the facilities. I have actually decided to edit my review after my second visit the wrap I was served was so awful and with such abadflavour and... View all feedback.
I was really disappointed with the chicken gyros wrap and would not recommend. The ordering system is great and they deal with orders quickly so you're not waiting long. I went at lunchtime and was waiting only a couple of minutes before it was ready. However, the food was not up to expectations and it lacked any Greek authenticity. The portion size was good value for money but the quality of chicken was really poor. Gyros is usually a bit crispy and bursting with flavour, this one had no crispness to it at all and was like eating air as it had no taste or texture to it. Best was to describe it is fleshy. It's made me feel a bit sick. I had a couple of chips with a sort of Cajun spice in there, which were nice but there were not enough, a really bitter tasting lettuce and one bit of tomato. The tzatziki was lovely and was the only thing stopping me throwing it away as it gave it some taste. It didn't taste like proper Greek food at all and I wish I'd gone somewhere else. Really disappointed and down £8.
Really enjoyed it. Had 15 minutes until my late bus, and the wrap was ready almost before I finished ordering (I expect that won't happen when busy! . And fairly unique. Would be nice if they had classic lamb, but no biggy! Pretty good prices for London too
Nice bit of quick food. Only go there for a quick snack by yourself or with just one other person, if you want to sit down to eat, as there were only four chairs inside. They have a 2 wraps, 1 side and 2 dronks for £20 which i think was very good value. Halloumi fries were really solid and went well with their spicu feta sauce.
I really enjoyed my first ever vegan kebab, it's am authentic version of a kebab and reminded me of the ones I ate in Athens. I loved it. Some of the reviews spoke as if this is a restaurant there are stools at a bar you can sit on, but it's more of a take away. Lots of regular options too. I would have loved to have tried more vegan options, if I'm ever in the area again :
Brilliant service, amazing taste, friendly stuff, honest prices! Best place near coach station amongst silly chain restaurants or slow service pubs
