The lark's tongue in aspic was particularly good as a starter. The main, tripe and onions, could have fed an army. I visited this restaurant on Christmas Eve after caroling and participated in The Boar's Head Carol by the fire while warming up with a tankard of warm mead. I jokingly ordered Pigeon Feet Pie for everyone, to which the landlord suggested other quirky options. I tried the squirrel haunch pie and found it delicious.
