We had one of the best meals we have ever had. We took the full 5 course regional menu with flight of wines, which came out at around EUR500 for 2 - so expensive, but outstanding quality View all feedback.
Great service. Patrick knows all about wine and is very perfect waiter :-). Let him choose your wines. Signature dish is duck in 3 ways. We had a la cart this time. Very good and very nicely presented. I would have wished 1-2 more main dishes, ex. one fish dish. We had the choise between lamb (very good) and vegetarian.
It was our first German Michelin star restaurant. We chose a la cart, the duck in three courses: breast, sorbet, leg. A bottle of German wine was advised for this meal. Everything was delicious.
Endtenfang was already a well-known oasis for the discriminate connaisseur when most of Northern Germany still was a culinary "Sahara" - i. e. thirty and more years ago. Concerns that it might change when the long-term chef retired were unfounded; his successor perhaps succeeded to raise the level in two ways: he kept some of the traditional dishes (sometimes adding some unique touches of his own) and offers new and experimental creations. The presentations are perfect, without distractions from the core purpose: top quality, wonderfully composed and utterly tasteful. This was a business dinner for two, but for some reason business took a backseat that evening. Each serving of the multi-course dinner looked small, but the portions also turned out just right. We followed the Sommelier's suggestion with regard to the accompanying wines, and it is hard to imagine that we could have done better. Overall service was very attentive and personable - not too formal and not too casual.Of course, top quality has a price -so make sure your wallet is not empty or your credit card has not expired. And at the end of the evening you'll need to take a deep breath anyway - I am convinced that you won't regret it.
This is a very nice restuarant with 1 Michelin star. The Food is very good and not to fancy. Good protions. You can selcetd dishes from different fixed menues. The wine list is top (try German pinot noir, just listen to the somelier, he choose my wines). Top service from knowledgeable waiters. Absolut wort a visit, you will come back. Very nice premises, also outdoor in the summer.
The five course meal, nicely accompanied by well chosen wine by glass was outstanding, a well prepared journey into the world of gastronomy, kindly guided by an uttermost professional waiter. Well worth a visit if you are searching for a smooth evening with culinary delights.
