Pizza U Design offers a unique dining experience where Mexican and Italian flavors come together in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Originally established in 1972 as Papa Juans, the oldest Mexican restaurant in Cedar Rapids, the location moved to Center Point Road NE in 1980, continuing its rich tradition of serving authentic and flavorful dishes.
In 2004, under the ownership of local restaurateur Steve Van Fleet, the menu expanded to include Italian cuisine, blending fresh ingredients and traditional recipes to create a diverse and delicious selection. This fusion gave rise to Papa Juan Stefano’s, which quickly gained popularity for its innovative approach to food.
Today, Pizza U Design carries on this legacy, offering a vibrant menu where pizza takes center stage, crafted with care and creativity. Whether you're craving classic Mexican dishes or wood-fired Italian pizzas, Pizza U Design provides a memorable dining experience with something for every palate.

This is great tasting pizza with lots of choices of fresh toppings. The employees are always very friendly and the service is fast. Some of our favorite pizza in Cedar Rapids.

This might be my favorite pizza place around now, and it's only my second visit. Craveable pizza for a really good price. The (at the time of this review) $9 small (which makes 2 meals for me) comes with 4 toppings in addition to 2 types of cheeses. Made fresh in front of you in like 5 mins., and if I heard correctly, a lot of the ingredients are locally sourced. There's a lot to like here, so I hope these guys get some more business. Good stuff!
I like a good pizza but this place is straight up awesome! Best I've had in a while. Hats of to you guys. You put out a great product.
The chicken enchilada pizza was FABULOUS!!! The Queso corn dip was AMAZING!! The Fajita dinner was GREAT the veggies were sauteed just right: The Guacamole had a tasty flavor! Love that you can enjoy really good Mexican and Italian all under the same roof: last but not least the Barrel Marg's (plural rank right up there in top 3 in C.R.!!! We will definitely be making this a regular stop!!:
