We drove an hour, and it was 100% worth it! Fantastic starters, mains, dessert and drinks. Easily the best fine dining in Iowa. The atmosphere was, at first, very romantic- candlelit and serene, until a small group with a baby were sat. We were very disappointed and surprised that Cobble Hill would consider allowing young children when the ambiance is clearly meant to be an intimate, upscale dining experience. View all feedback.

What Brent Bartz dislikes about Cobble Hill Eatery Dispensary:
Only seats we could get were at the kitchen table, overlooking the cooking area. Wouldn’t recommend unless you like to watch food being prepared and the smoke and smells of a kitchen. My wife had fish and she liked it. I had the pork tenderloin and it was tough and chewy, not what I expected for a $35 pork dish. Drinks were good, appetizers good and desert good, but for $200 bill meal I expected more. If you’re going... View all feedback.

The highlight of this restaurant is definitely the staff! They are incredibly friendly and accommodating, which truly reflects the quality of the establishment. I would return just for their excellent service. The interior ambiance is also wonderful; it feels upscale and modern. As for the food, it was quite good—maybe even great—but I wouldn't say it was exceptional. We tried the beef tartare, charcuterie board, and Parisian gnocchi, and while I enjoyed all of it, I found it a bit on the bland side. However, the cocktails were outstanding! Update: Three months later, I visited again, and the food was fantastic! I've updated my review to five stars, and I will definitely be returning.

I prefer the Webster when it comes to service, menu, and portion sizes. The restaurant was quite busy, and it has a long-standing history. However, the wine list features some unusual choices and includes only one Napa Valley option. Clearly, they must be doing something right to have been around for so long, but I don't think it's worth the drive to CR, in my opinion. There are multiple options in IC that I would choose instead.

Very busy and loud full of energy on a Thursday night Upscale good food Blackberry smash cocktail was strong with good berry taste and a mint leaf Started with peach sorbet which came on a bed of buttered graham (an issue with the GF person). More of a limoncello flavor than peach but once i got past no peach flavor it was light and followed the perfect definition of a sorbet App; One east and one west coast fresh shucked raw oysters. Perfect App; parisian gnocchi with a great crispy mushroom Green beans; yum to the max Mussels (out) Aged duck main; plenty of duck on a bed of farro that was so nutty and flavorful that i wish i had huge bowl of it. With too few grilled just right patty pan squash. I liked the duck with the paneer sauce that came with the green beans. The Chef was very able to accommodate the vegan and gluten free requirements in our group of 16

This is truly one of the finest restaurants in Iowa. The dishes are not only creative but also packed with flavor and beautifully presented. Don't even think about skipping dessert; it's a must-try!

This restaurant is arguably the best in the corridor. Other great restaurants in the area present great food that I could probably make at home. Cobble Hill presents fresh ideas using locally sourced, in-season ingredients where possible in ways I couldn't have come up with myself. It's also one of the few restaurants we consistently commit to ordering dessert. Their staff are knowledgeable, their cocktails are magnificent, and the wine list is unique. Their seafood is fresh and this is about the only place in Iowa I trust for raw oysters. If you were ever tempted to visit and haven't, move this restaurant to the top of your list.

Nestled in the heart of Cedar Rapids, Cobble Hill stands out as a premier dining destination, celebrated for its inviting atmosphere and exceptional service. With a commitment to a farm-to-table experience, the restaurant boasts a seasonally changing menu filled with locally sourced, house-made dishes. Diners rave about the beautifully presented culinary creations, from delicate gnocchi to flavorful seafood entrees. While opinions vary on certain offerings, the majority agree that both the cocktails and desserts leave a lasting impression. Whether for a business meeting or a casual dinner, Cobble Hill promises an unforgettable dining experience deserving of its stellar reputation.

The restaurant has a charming atmosphere, attentive service, and delicious food. Their menu changes frequently based on farm-to-table ingredients, ensuring a unique dining experience each time. We enjoyed appetizers such as duck confit gnocchi, fried sunchokes, and beef tartare. For our main courses, I had monkfish remoulade with Swiss chard, mussels, and seaweed salad, while my husband had flat iron steak with mushrooms, mashed potatoes, and grilled onions, both of which were excellent. My father-in-law ordered winter squash ravioli, which was beautifully presented but came in small portions. To feel satisfied, we recommend ordering appetizers and dessert. For dessert, we tried rosemary cake with hazelnut frosting and smoked molasses gelato, chocolate tres leches with coconut panna cotta, and cinnamon vanilla rice pudding with fresh blueberries and blueberry egg yolks, reminiscent of dishes by Jose Andres. They also offer a happy hour until 6:30, featuring discounted beers, wine, and well drinks. Overall, a great dining experience and I would definitely return when in town again.

I had a hard time writing this review, but here it goes: the ambience is fantastic. The interior is super cute with exposed brick, plants, great lighting, and charming antique dishware. The farm-to-table concept is usually great, but the food was a mixed bag. The ricotta gnudi I ordered was too salty, and the charcuterie board was lacking. However, the Parisian gnocchi was delicious! The service started off strong but towards the end, we felt a bit ignored. The cocktails were amazing! Overall, I would recommend coming in for drinks and appetizers to enjoy the lovely setting.

Two days later and I'm still thinking about the chicken I enjoyed at Cobble Hill. It was amazing! Locally sourced chicken thigh stuffed with chicken sausage. Surrounded by mushrooms and olives with seeded encrusted sweet potatoes. Perfection on a plate. My only regret was that I was dining alone so I didn't get to try anything else. The chef's counter was a perfect place to sit as I had a bird's eye view of the kitchen. Kitchen staff, as well as wait staff, took great care of me throughout the evening. Even the hostess came over to check in on me. The beverage menu is great as well with a good selection of cocktails and wines all at a solid price point. I will definitely return to Cobble Hill on my next trip to Cedar Rapids.

I had an absolutely delightful experience at Cobble Hill! The cocktails were a taste sensation, the kale salad was a burst of freshness, and the scallops were cooked to perfection. The staff was not only attentive but also brought a fantastic energy to the entire dining experience. The rustic ambiance added to the overall enjoyment, making it a memorable visit. I'll definitely be returning for more culinary delights at Cobble Hill!
