Huhot Mongolian Grill - Cedar Falls

This place is absolutely disgusting even the clean dishes are not clean the sauces have all mixed together the grill is so gross I have never seen a restaurant so disgusting. 1 star is to much. And on top of that pur waitress is rude.

Its a clean, and staff is excellent. I told the guy at the grill I have allergies and they do an excellent job at keeping everything away from your food.I haven't been to a HuHot for a few years. We only have a Genghis Grill where I live (not in IA), so as far as knowing what the sauces taste like, I was flying blind, no one use taste sticks. After I had to go get more sauce as I hadn't added enough to even get a flavor. Would be nice to be able to taste first, I wasn't sure I'd like the sauce so didn't put alot on. I did 2 scoops, went back to get 4 more to get flavor.I got here just before a big rush.. The cooks did a good job at keeping my food separate, but didn't cook it long enough so my potatoes were still wet and cold, noodles were lukewarm and carrots were very crunchy and raw. the meat was cooked all the way through, but could have been cooked more though. By the time O walked from the grill to my table, my food was cold.It wasn't a terrible supper, but definitely was a disappointment.

For Mother's Day, arrived at 11:00 a.m. apparently someone forgot to turn on the grill. the chefs were frustrated....served us our meal and it was warm...not hot. When we came back to our table, we were told that the rice would not be ready for another 5 minutes. it seems like Mother's Day is a great opportunity to win new customers, not lose them. I was very surprised at this bad level of service. we are not coming back!

I really want to like this place. The food was good but my thing is the same spatulas being used to cook everyone's food with. Cross contamination. Also when they clean one part the stuff they put on there goes flying into other people's food. That's not cool.

We live about an hour away, but many times when we visit the Waterloo Cedar Falls area we eat here. Every single time the service is excellent, the food is excellent, the place is clean and well run. We actually ate there today, the Saturday before Christmas and it WAS BUSY! The lines wrapped around the back wall and halfway to the starting point, but they went sooo fast. Even though they were Uber Uber busy, the staff was still nice and they ran that place very well considering the situation. The cooks had that grill down to a science cooking things throughly and with attention, yet constantly cleaning and adding the next bowls. Well done Cedar Falls Hu Hut, you have 3 fans with myself, my wife and our 9 month old baby! Keep up the good work.
