Nestled just outside Albuquerque, this BBQ spot offers a mixed dining experience. Many praise the friendly, attentive staff and welcoming atmosphere, especially the outdoor patio and family-friendly menu. The ribs and smoked meats often receive high marks for flavor and tenderness, complemented by standout sides like green beans. Drinks and sweet tea are also well-liked. However, some guests find the food inconsistent—citing overcooked meats, greasy sides, and underwhelming sauces—and note slow service and loud music detracting from the ambiance. Overall, it’s a charming local gem with room for improvement, ideal for casual meals and hearty BBQ cravings.

Out for a Rona ride in East Mt. Spied this cute bar b que place with its patio open and decided to stop. So glad we did, great food, nice staff. Little diamond in the rough, we will be back.

45 minutes to get an order of smoked meat. Ribs were seriously over done, dry and a little shoe leather up. Texas Toast was not cooked, more bread than toast. Brisket was just okay, a bit on the dry side. The sauce was good if you like hot spices, what I do. To summarize it, the service was far too slow for the amount of employees they had, and the food was actually worse than the big business chain stores.

Delicious smoked brisket, ribs, pulled pork (super juicy) and spicy sausage. The half size combination is perfect for two people!

I waited 45 minutes for a to-go order of smoked meats. The ribs were severely overcooked, dry, and had a tough texture. The Texas toast was undercooked, resembling bread more than toast. The brisket was average but also a bit dry. The sauce was tasty if you enjoy spicy flavors, which I do. Overall, the service was too slow given the number of staff available, and the food was actually worse than what you'd find at larger corporate chain restaurants.

BBQanon! What does it really mean when someone says, "You’re an American, act like it"? And what does the term "globalist" really imply? Some people link it to groups like mine—Jews. (You can visit their website for more information, and if you agree with their perspective, feel free to keep dining there.) I used to live nearby and visited a few times because it was convenient. The food was decent but not outstanding, and the service could be very slow at times. However, now that the restaurant has adopted a right-wing stance, I won’t be returning.
