We had an amazing time. We did the tour, then made our own blend of wine, then had a 3 course meal which was fantastic. The service was amazing all the staff are extremely friendly and well trained. Have been here quite a few times this year and will continue to go back, although not on a weekend when it is extremely busy. View all feedback.
What Ola Conn doesn't like about Sandalford Caversham Estate Restaurant:
We had a big group with a set menu which seemed quite expensive when you compared against prices in the actual menu. Staff were ok - didn't seem to go out of their way. We were offered free tasting....but to be honest, was so crowded in there, wasn't possible. Markup on some of the wines was a bit crazy. All in all, was okay. Wouldn't go rushing back. Went for lunch with family. Complimentary wine tastings with dining at the restaurant, and included discounts for wines purchased. Great food and ambience. Activity book for each kid to keep them occupied. Will eh good if the playground is near the dining area! Overall a great experience. Ok wines.
Located in the picturesque Swan Valley, this restaurant offers stunning views of the vineyards in an open-plan setting. The staff were welcoming and friendly, offering us a delightful wine tasting before our delicious lunch. We appreciated the relaxed atmosphere, allowing us to leisurely enjoy our food and drinks. The dishes were fresh and expertly crafted, with delightful flavor combinations. We will definitely be returning to this wonderful spot!
We've visited Sandalford a number of times over the years and the food is always top class. This visit was no exception. We started off with foccacia and oil with the warmed bread being delicious. There was a good range of mains on the menu but one of my favourites (lamb) got the nod from me while one of my wife's favourites (seafood risotto this one was just shellfish) got the nod from her. We foolishly ordered two sides potatoes with parmesan, and Brussels sprouts which meant we both ate far too much during the meal. The food was lovely. Highly recommended. Our wines were both to our tastes and we ended up purchasing some bottles of each at the adjoining cellar door after the meal. Staff were very attentive and helpful at all times. Recommended.
Delightful upscale winery restaurant in the Swan Valley. Lovely décor inside and out. We ate indoors because it was too hot for the terrace. Very sophisticated menu, so much so that it almost seems that some of it is contrived for linguistic effect. It is also rather expensive. Nevertheless, the food was tasty and the service efficient and pleasant. We shared a zucchini flower tempura and I followed with a very tasty red snapper at $50. Generally, everything we had was very tasty but overly contrived and complicated with too many different flavours. It was as if you recognized everything on the dish you were ordering they had failed. A serious foodie might revel in this. Me, not so much. But I don’t want to leave the impression that this was anything but an enjoyable lunch. We won’t be back; we will look for something simpler.
What an absolutely fabulous dining experience .. from the moment we entered the service was exceptional. Free wine tasting prior to lunch was very interesting and the lady who looked after us really knew her wines. Lunch was a wonderful dining experience highly recommend the chicken also the sides were lovely. Just make sure you save room for desserts. The staff could not have been more attentive or charming … thank you for a memorable and wonderful Sunday afternoon.
