Mount Cook Alpine Salmon - Cave

The best salmon sashimi I’ve ever had. I wasn’t a raw salmon person but THIS SALMON changed me. Overlooking Lake Pukaki and Mt Cook and the snowy mountains, while enjoying this incredibly fresh salmon, what an amazing experience. Their salmon sashimi comes in two sizes, it’s best to call and reserve before going because they can be sold out pretty fast. Enjoying salmon sashimi by the lake would always be one of my best experiences in New Zealand.

Really yummy and fresh salmon with a fantastic view, one of the freshest salmon we’ve tried, staff was kind to even give ice packs with the takeaway salmon.

The salmon sashimi was absolutely delicious and very well priced. The staff were friendly and helpful with information on Mount Cook and the surrounding areas. Highly highly highly recommend!! We very nearly went back after Mount Cook for more!

Good to get fresh salmon and eat out near the lake Pukaki. Good scenery with fresh food. They don’t serve cooked salmon but raw only and beverages. There’s a small photo gallery where you can take amazing photo with Mt Cook at your background

Definitely come for the view of mt cook. Easy lunch choice. Salmon is fresh and tasty: had roe, smoked and sashimi.
