Having wait... read more We visited the market on a Monday and decided to have a coffee and a snack. We waited to be noticed by the man and lady we presumed owned the venue. Having waited and having indicated to them that the four of us wanted to sit...we were ignored! We sat and put two tables together. The proprietor approached us and asked if we intended to eat or just wanted a coffee. He stood at the table and proceeded to tap away on his phone, completely ignoring us. We told him two wanted food and two for only coffee, water for everyone. He consented to us staying in the eating part of the terrace then told us it was too early to order food! We waited and after some 10 minutes he returned to take our order.... two coffees, a bottle of water, two croque monsieur, and a Diet Coke. No idea if we'd get food! Some time later (I'm guessing 10 minutes he returned with the coffee and water, no coke). I reminded him of the coke, he nodded. Another 10 minutes, I remained the lady owner of our outstanding coke...we waited. 30 minutes after we ordered the croque monsieur arrived. Still no coke. I reminded them again of the missing coke. The croque monsieur was awful, damp white bread, reasonable ham and the most minimal cheese possible! I eat what I could and left most. Still no Diet Coke! I reminded him again. Eventually the Coke arrived. This place was simply awful! Lousy service, poor food. The proprietors are simply in the wrong business! Indifferent, detached and forgetful, they should either get Gordon Ramsey (Kitchen Nightmares) in too sort them out or sell to someone who can run a restaurant! Civilisations had risen and fallen, species discovered, generations passed and we were still waiting for a simple order. It's bad, very bad.... Give it a miss unless you want to contemplate suicide! I've attached photos so you know what the place looks like, easier to avoid!!

Given that it's a bar/pub/convenience store even if you sit inside, be prepared for smoke to drift in from the patrons who stand in the doorway with their cigs and lotto tickets

The food was very tasty, service a bit slow (but in a standard French way ; and one of the waiters even spoke quite a good English. Overall good experience.
