A fairly recent addition to Marina di Caulonia’s repertoire of restaurants, La Riva serves as the beachside residence for the popular year-round takeaway pizza... read more A fairly recent addition to Marina di Caulonia’s repertoire of restaurants, La Riva serves as the beachside residence for the popular year-round takeaway pizza outlet Floriss in the village centre. Located across the road from the beach, La Riva offers a fairly sizeable outdoor seating area to diners. It’s plastic chairs and tables but this doesn’t personally bother me. I believe they have a more extensive snacking menu for lunchtime, but the evening menu is pretty much pizza based, which isn’t surprising given that this is their day job. Cooked in a traditional stone oven as visible from the restaurant, it’s what they know, and what they do, best. As this might imply the pizzas are excellent. A very good selection, quality ingredients, these are about as good as it gets. The service, provided by the whole family, is friendly and sharp, and the prices perfectly acceptable (pizza and 2 drinks €12) I’d definitely recommend La Riva if in Marina do Caulonia. In a small village that offers several options for good pizza, it may just be the best
