My family had lunch at Wasana, and we were pleasantly surprised by the authentic Thai cuisine offered at this family-run establishment. The ambiance is simple and clean, lacking any unnecessary embellishments. We ordered a variety of dishes, including fried rice, pad Thai, curry, and seafood, all of which were delicious and well-prepared. The food had a nice level of spiciness, so if you're sensitive to heat, be sure to ask for milder options. A few dishes were a bit on the salty side. The curries and saucy dishes are served with jasmine rice, but you can request brown rice as an alternative. The service was outstanding, much better than our experience at a pricier restaurant the night before. Wasana is conveniently located on the main street in the charming center of Catskill, surrounded by numerous shops and boutiques.
This restaurant does a disservice to Thai cuisine. The sauces hardly matched authentic Thai flavors. The desserts were decent, which is why I'm giving it two stars, but the tablecloth was dirty.
A hidden gem with really fantastic Thai food! my father and I stopped at a late lunch and dinner. he has pad thai and panang curry on the mild side. the curry was a perfect balance of milder heat, taste and wonderful aromas. hang down the best thai I had outside Thai! will definitely come back!
