What an amazing restaurant and a great find! Very welcoming hosts, excellent food and wine. Would definitely come back again and can highly recommend as the perfect local food!

Very friendly staff. No menu but only dishes of the day. The pasta and the typical calabrese salad were to die for and the local white wine very nice too. Highly recommended.

In the small town of Gizzeria Lido near LaMezia Terme airport is a tremendous little restaurant which dishes up only fresh fish of the day. Don’t let the lack of a menu intimidate you, this place is epic! The owner is very friendly and you can by in English. My two visits, I let her decide what to bring me and I tried some things for the very first time. Think of a traditional trattoria with the difference that this is only fish. Heaven for us fish lovers. When you plan your trip to discover Calabria, ensure to book yourself into the Marechiaro hotel, which a few kilometres from the airport on the coast and was the promenade to this wonderful little place for a couple of nights. Perfect place to stay before returning home, specially if you have an early flight the next day. I recommend this unassuming family run little restaurant enough. A must try!

We called in the afternoon as the place looked shut in mid April. I’m pretty sure they opened the place up just because we called. With no menu we had mussels, followed a wonderful spaghetti alle vongole which included tomatoes, followed by mixed fried fish and squid. The waitress was chatty (in Italian, though I think she has some basic English) while the chef came out afterwards to say a few words too. A great, non corporate, local Italian experience. Grazie.

A simple and small fish restaurant where you do not get a menu to choose your dishes you eat what the chef has of fresh fish. We will certainly not on our own initiative order the dishes that were served but in that way we tasted something new and everything tasted good. The host couple were exceptionally nice people and we had a lovely and authentic experience.
