Gnoc... read more The food was just not good. Everything was both over complicated and off. They served salted cod with a purée that included pear and tasted like baby food. Gnocchi was cloying sweet and mushy in a puréed sauced that was also much. Octopus was chewy and again paired with a sweet pomegranate. The restaurant was trying hard but just miss after miss. They would have been better pairing back the dishes and executing them well. The bread was average but nothing special and yet was the highlight of the meal. And the servers did try, which is why leaving two stars not one.

It's in a kind remote isolated area of the city, which is really the only bad thing I can say about it. Every single dish I ordered on the menu was incredibly well put together, and very tasty. You know you've found a great chef when the dishes are creative, but no ingediant in any dish prepared for you seems superfluous, or like it doesn't belong. Every single ingrediant in every dish they gave me complimented the dish and made it great! I've been to some of the best restaurants in the world, and let me tell you, that's not easy to do. Even some of the best occassionally put an ingrediant in there that I'll feel wasn't necessary. That didn't happen here which tells me this chef is a creative genius. Their wine list was spectacular too! Oh and my wife and I liked the atmosphere as well. The place is very modern and elegant, and the wait staff were very attentive and helpful. For Sicily the place might be on the more expensive side, we got out of there paying 200€ total for 3 courses, and an amuse bouche, but given the quality of the food I happen to think the place was a steal! I've had meals I loved, but weren't as good as this one for more in other cities around the world, including my own (New York). If you have the money to spend, it's worth every penny and then some! If you're a foodie, and you're in Catania, then this place is for you!

I wasn’t expecting that. It was perfect. The red tuna might have been the best fish I’ve ever eaten. The service was fantastic and the wine pairing was on point. I noticed that their site had no availabilities, on other booking sites there were quite a few. If you plan on going, just make sure to try all the different options. It is so very worth it.
