We had an overall nice fresh seafood plate which sadly had smoked salmon on it doesn’t make sense for a fresh seafood plate. The rest was ok, but not amazing. The plating looked quite good though

We arrived late 10.05pm to a restaur... read more After seeing the 5* rating and Flumen being rated no. 3 restaurant in Catania this certainly did not meet our expectations. We arrived late 10.05pm to a restaurant which was fairly quiet for a Friday evening (our last night in Catania and we wanted somewhere special). We were left to figure things out ourselves and saw a paper QR on the table (there was an option to see the menu in different languages which was a bonus). A waiter came over and we asked why on the website there were different dishes to the QR. He informed us the website menu was incorrect and we had to follow the QR. We ordered the antipasti to share (they advise this is for 2), 1 pasta dish and 1 meat dish. 2 glasses of wine and a water. This was 10.20pm. By 10.40 only the wine has arrived my very hungry partner politely asked where the starter was which we were told we were coming (at this point we were the only guests dining outside of the restaurant). It finally came and looked amazing it was also huge! I’d say to feed 4 not 2. At 11.05 (after being there an hour) still no water. Pretty fed up my hungry partner went inside and followed up on our water which he was then handed the bottle by the waiter. Rather fed up and over the whole experience and lack of care and attention from the staff, we asked to cancel the mains. Another waiter came back and apologised for not giving us the water and said he removed it from the bill.. a nice gesture but I think it would have been nice to have offered the antipasti or wine for the inconvenience. Really disappointed with the whole experience, we really wanted to make our last night in Catania special and we were really let down by this restaurant.
