The Birdseye Diner - Castleton
The Birdseye Diner
Description
Overall, reviews for the restaurant are mixed. Some customers were disappointed by the food quality and service, with complaints ranging from undercooked eggs to rude waitstaff. However, others praised the nostalgic atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food options. The menu offers a wide selection and the diner itself is a restored 1940 Silk City Dining Car. Despite some negative experiences, there were many positive reviews highlighting the great food, reasonable prices, and excellent service. It seems like a unique spot worth trying if you find yourself in the quiet city of Vermont.

The nostalgia of the restaurant and town was pleasant. The whole experience was wonderful. The food was good and friendly waitresses. I also had a maple milkshake.
Excellent place for a small town. In the picture below we have the portobello mushroom sandwich with fries, BLT with chips and Birdseye onion rings. Everything was great. Would defiantly recommend.
Amazing food. And above and beyond amazing service. We ate outside because we had our dogs with us. The waitress even brought them ice water! Every moment she walked by she would ask if we needed anything and always topping off the cofees! Egg Benedictwas amazing and everything was so affordable. I'd give 6 stars if I could.
If I could leave zero stars I would. We were in town for a wedding. We stopped here about 730 on Friday night. We ordered a veggie burger and a Philly cheese steak. We had been sitting there for about 45 minutes, when a waitress asked us if we werewaiting on food. She came back and said it was being plated then. No big deal, we weren 't in a rush. About 2 seconds later oneof the cooks came out of the kitchen and said Food like this takes time to cook, if you don 't like it, cook it yourself. Thiswas it for us and we left. I have never been treated so badly at a restaurant. This was completely uncalled for as well asincredibly unprofessional. I will absolutely let all of my family who has previously enjoyed going there, so they don 't go thereanymore.
Been here twice now. Once for breakfast, once for dinner. The morning staff was friendly. Items were priced decent. Food is iffy. Aged. Flies are pesky. May or may not return. Definitely not a top pick. ... reply, yes aged. Last spring we were therefor dinner. Dry meat with dark edges is aged. Maybe whoever responded wasn't there that night to witness. But our table was.
