Stube Vives is a true gem in the heart of Ortisei, flawlessly combining elegance, tradition, and creativity. We really enjoyed our last dinner here. We had the black Angus beef entrecote (perfectly cooked and had a lovely spiced pumpkin hummus and chorizo sauce which complemented the meat well) and the spaghetti alla chitarra (SO good). I'm not a huge dessert fan but my friends got some and they were too beautiful to eat but were tasty too. The service was great too.
I was in this restaurant in Ortisei last night and what can I say? Everything was truly impeccable and excellent, from the service to the quality and goodness of the dishes.
A challenging day of skiing under brilliant sunshine is pure luxury. But what's absolutely essential on such a day? That's right – the perfect ending: a true explosion of flavor. Vives impresses with its rustic, wood-dominated interior, creating a cozy yet inviting atmosphere. The restaurant's cuisine brings modern touches to the plate. The focus is clearly on the flavor of each individual ingredient – no frills, no unnecessary distractions. Instead, high-quality ingredients and precise craftsmanship take center stage. The spaghetti is cooked perfectly al dente, supported by a wonderfully intense shellfish essence that brings out the flavor beautifully, with elegant clarity. The venison saddle is tender and aromatic. The meal concludes with a chocolate dream that perfectly captures the essence of the day's skiing and the surrounding mountain scenery. The service is equally impressive: friendly, attentive, and courteous. You immediately sense that a well-coordinated team works together here – both in the front of house and in the kitchen. The personal conversation with the chef was particularly enjoyable. He boasts an impressive resume, having learned and developed his style in outstanding kitchens. A clear recommendation for anyone who appreciates excellent craftsmanship and authentic flavor. Even a trip from the surrounding area is definitely worthwhile.
