Grotto Osteria Croce

Very good food, very nice location but service definitely worth reviewing. We had a business dinner with a fixed menu and I find it unacceptable that: They asked us to pay for the aperitif IMMEDIATELY before consuming it (actually the aperitif was not included in the cost of the dinner, but we were actually there for dinner, it seems NORMAL to me that you pay for everything at the end). We spent 35 chf for the aperitif and they told us that the minimum to pay by card was 35 chf (exactly what we spent) and they did NOT let us pay by card... In a fixed menu dinner where EVERYONE eats the same thing it is not possible that if you ask for an encore of at least two potatoes or two vegetables they will answer: but this is a fixed menu there is no encore. If you cook ad hoc for a group of 10-15 people, where everyone eats the same thing, you don't have to sip in the kitchen on the portions but you always make a little more, at least of potatoes which cost nothing. Many of us left the restaurant hungry. It's a shame we had a good time years ago.

Beautiful experience. Objective Salute Chiasso staff dinner, at Grotto Croce. Warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly environment. Really excellent food. We were all very satisfied. I tried venison tartare with blueberries and Baden Baden-style wild boar shank, accompanied by Cantastorie wine. Interesting local wine list and homemade desserts to finish. Thanks guys, we will definitely come back to visit you.
