A welcoming place, a family atmosphere, and a truly... read more We stumbled upon Trattoria Fontanì by chance, on a rainy day, on my birthday. It was a wonderful discovery. A welcoming place, a family atmosphere, and a truly evocative view of Lake Iseo. We were greeted by Mr. Dario, who, with his cheerful and kind nature, led us to a small room upstairs with a view of Lake Iseo and a lush garden. He told us that on sunny days, you can dine outside. We ate wonderfully: a platter of cured meats and cheeses with a delicious fig jam, spectacular sardines in saor, homemade casoncelli, and tagliatelle with wild boar ragù. The Valpolicella Ripasso was also excellent. They even played the song Happy Birthday when the cake arrived—a simple gesture, but one I greatly appreciated. What struck me most, besides the truly delicious dishes and generous portions, was Dario 's cheerfulness and helpfulness, which made the atmosphere even more special: he made us feel right at home... We 'll definitely be back!
