**Dining Experience at Walt’s: A Mixed Bag**
Nestled in a quaint location, Walt’s offers a homey atmosphere, drawing patrons in with promises of hearty breakfasts. While some guests delighted in the fresh blueberries in their pancakes and the welcoming staff, others encountered significant service and quality issues. Dishes were reported as underwhelming, ranging from cold French toast to flavorless pork chops. Service inconsistencies were noted, with some patrons feeling neglected during busy hours. Despite these discrepancies, the restaurant’s charm and affordability solidify its presence in the area, making it a hit for those seeking a nostalgic diner experience. The food was really tasty! My husband and I both got the corned beef hash and it was great! You can definitely taste that the food is homemade
Came in about 1:00 on a Friday afternoon. The place was not busy and I was seated right away. The waitress was a grump from the start. I ordered the Boneless pork chops: 2 breaded and fried chops packed with flavor . The first order I got was clearly NOT breaded and the only flavor tasted like half a shaker of salt. I had to flag down my waitress because she did not come back around to see how I was doing. I pointed out that the chops were clearly NOT breaded. Not believing me they were to be breaded, I had to point it out in the menu. Not wanting to be bothered, she asked the other waitress to tell the cook I wanted the breaded chops. 10 minutes later, I got what they must call breaded. They were nothing more than flour coated and fried and they had ZERO flavor. They did not give me new tator tots, so now I am eating dry flavorless chops with cold tots. Such a disgrace and disappointment.
Small-town diner, fresh homemade dishes, served by chipper waitstaff. They've had the same chef for over 30 years, you can tell everything that comes out of that kitchen is made with love. Don't pass through Caseville without stopping into Walt's.
French Toast was stone cold to the touch, omelets were runny, and the fried potatoes was the temperature of a refrigerator. Waiter was a little short with us as well. Not a great experience considering we waited over an hour for our food. Will NOT be coming again, very disappointed.
