Very small and authentic restaurant for traditional Portuguese cuisine. We had an amazing lunch and really loved everything we ordered. Service was great! Inside lacks fresh air. Make sure the fan is blowing air right at you... View all feedback.
What Anabella B dislikes about A Nova Estrela:
Not a good experience and careful with overrated reviews by tourists … Went on a Monday for lunch. Ordered 2 grilled sea bass. They both had strange taste (for me not fresh). Queried this with what seemed to be the owner. She tried to convincing me this is the taste of this fish. This is a fish we eat once or twice a week so had no doubt. Maybe just bad luck. Waiter also so shy we couldn’t hear a word he said View all feedback.
Cod and Octopus were great! Tough the interieur looks a little bit strange, the food was really good. And the service was warm and friendly.
Amazing food and great service. This is a small gem on a side street, away from the tourist traps. We all had fish of the day, ans it was very fresh and excellently cooked.

We had a lovely enjoyable evening the food was very tasty everything homemade. The owner lady was very warm and welcoming and the service was excellent. Thankyou for the polaroid photo We will visit again on our return to cascais
My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. The owner is a very kind lady who took the time to answer our questions regarding the menu and made helpful suggestions and recommendations. We decided to go with the fish of the day, grilled octopus, sopa, and fish pate. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. You can immediately tell that a lot of care went into cooking and presenting these dishes. The restaurant is decorated in a quirky (in a good way) manner, with a relaxed atmosphere. The owner stopped by during our dinner to take our photo with a Polaroid camera and presented us the photo with our bill as a souvenir of our experience which was a nice gesture. Make sure to make a reservation because seating is limited. If we find ourselves in Cascais again, we will be back!
