Was Anonym at Mithai Indian Cafe a mag?
this place is simply amazing and the customer service is one of the best I ever had. eating is great, especially the powerball. the rose girl is beyond the understanding. I wish it was not just a business, but also a hotel, so I would move there and spend my whole free time there too. everything is so great that the right one would be a 10 star review, but google is not prepared yet. What Anonym dislikes about Mithai Indian Cafe:
Wow. I went to Withhai with an Indian friend in search of some delicious sweets for a special occasion. From the moment we walked in, the white owner seemed to have issues and was argumentative about my friend's heritage and our reason for being there. Eventually, we were able to purchase some items from their mithai selection. However, a month later, after leaving an honest review of our experience, the owners retal... View all feedback.
We were in search of a place to enjoy some fresh Indian snacks and stumbled upon this restaurant. I absolutely adored this place. The owners were incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home. The food was delicious and fresh. We tried the Veg Chop, which was fantastic, and the Mango Lassi, which I would rate 4.5 out of 5. The Masala Chai was decent, and the Bhelpuri was good and customizable to your taste preferences (sweet or spicy). The Sandesh, a sweet treat they make in-house, was outstanding. After just one bite, you'll realize it's the best Sandesh you can find in North Carolina. I highly recommend trying it, along with their other sweets.
By far the best authentic East Indian mithai selection!!! The shop is owned and operated by Craig Wishart, an interesting and well travelled PhD; the kitchen at Mithai is operated by an ex El Salvadoran army commander. Together they truly make the best authentic Bengali mithai, the quality of the sweets in my experience has always been consistent and exceptional. The mithai selections are always fresh and never doused in sugary syrups to mask inferior , the milk is sourced from Homeland Creamery in Julian NC. This is the kind of a shop where the owner will never compromise on his product offerings and is ever so passionate about his quaint little mithai heaven.
I would give this place and the storekeeper a 0 rating. We were verbally abused for calling back because we didn?t understand the statement in the voicemail. For that we were called many things (racial comments included) and we were yelled at and forced out. Frustrated storekeeper taking it out on the customers. Not a place for anything except flies. To storekeeper: There are other ways to let customers know that back to back calls are troublesome, not straight out yelling just because they walked into your place to give you some business. Don?t soft corner yourself, we wouldn?t have called the cops unless it was too disturbing. Your actions threatened a physical abuse that day.
Terrible place, they should shut it down. The guy at the cafe was least interested in serving the customer. He already had his excuses ready even before we could order the food. And talking about the food, please stop claiming that you serve authentic bengali food. None of your items tasted anything closer to the food you get in Bengal. My suggestion send your chef for a trip to West Bengal so that you can run the business delivering better tasting dishes. Would never recommend the place to anybody. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
