The food is consistently fantastic! However, the acoustics can be challenging, as the music tends to be quite loud, making it difficult to have a conversation. That said, the atmosphere is so cool and the dishes are so delicious that it's hard to really complain. I always order the shrimp tacos, and you absolutely have to try the mac and cheese—it's made with their queso and topped with bacon. So tasty! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Gonza Tacos Y Tequila Cary:
We were seated right by the door, which resulted in us being hit with a chilly draft each time it opened. The waiter was friendly but not particularly attentive. The food was decent, although there was just one option for a pomegranate salad dressing that I didn't care for, so I skipped ordering what I wanted. My son ordered a churro for dessert, which never arrived, and the waiter could only offer vague explanations... View all feedback.
Great food, great atmosphere, great decoration and great style. This is a Mexicanized AMERICAN restaurant. There is nothing wrong with that. I'm not sure if the owner, chef, or cooks are Mexican, but the food was authentic, yet Modern. The authentic flavor was there, but it was also different. Authentic in the sense that it resembles Mexican street food, but unlike that street food it's not so cheap. To be honest it is some of the best Mexican food that I've had in the Area. The ambiance is great for a date or dinner with the family. The Spicy Pepino specialty drink was refreshing, and not so spicy. The queso, guac, and salsa with chips is also great. I tried ordering the carne asada tacos in a Spanish/Mexican accent and was corrected with its English/American pronunciation which was difficult to sit through. This restaurant did not receive a perfect score because the Authenticity of Mexican food and culture was good, but something felt like it was missing. However, I don't know what. So, let's just say a 4.5 is my official score. I am Mexican and grew up eating Mexican food in Mexico and on the West Coast.
Gonza is consistently delicious and does gluten free so well. We didn’t realize we were still visiting together after lunch hours because the sweet staff never made us feel rushed. Great food and staff.
I always love the delicious food here and the fun atmosphere. The guacamole is amazing and the bowl special they offered tonight was delicious. So full...
This is the place to go with your friends or family. The service is top notch and very responsive, also very helpful when deciding what to enjoy for lunch or dinner. Rating would have been 5 except for the portion size for the soup. The soup was delicious but we ordered a bowl and it was more like a cup, remember delicious but small. Luckily the rest of the meal was good portions and delicious. They also serve more than tequila and rum.
This was my second visit here. The food is tasty and I love the guacamole and fresh toasted tortillas. The bartender know how to make good drinks!
